Questions and answers

What does it cost?
$2.99 a month per household, after a 14-day free trial, through the App Store. That covers everyone in your household, and includes AI recipe scanning and smart prep plans up to a monthly allowance. AI never costs extra; if you reach the allowance, it pauses until your next billing month.
How do I subscribe or cancel?
Subscribe in the iPhone app; Apple handles the payment. Cancel any time on your iPhone in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for.
Can I suggest features?
Please do! In the app, open Settings › Help build the app, or email ideas@ai.plannedandprepped.com. Claude, our AI assistant, asks a couple of questions so your idea is clear, and the best ideas get built.
Do I need to download an app?
On iPhone, get Planned & Prepped from the App Store; that's also where you subscribe. Everyone in your household can also use it in a web browser on a Mac, PC or Android phone with the same account.
Can my whole family use it?
Yes. One household shares recipes, meal plans and the grocery list. The owner invites everyone with a link, QR code, join code or email.
How does recipe scanning work?
Take a photo of a printed recipe with the built-in scanner. The page is flattened and cleaned up, then read by Anthropic's Claude AI, word for word. You can check and edit everything before saving.
What if the recipe came from a website?
Paste the link and we import it, usually in a second. If a scanned page shows a web address, we'll offer to get the original from the site.
How does it choose meals?
You choose how many meals and the mix (for example 2 chicken and 1 fish) and pin any must-haves. It fills the rest from your recipes, favoring higher stars, things you haven't made lately, your budget, what's in season and the weather.
Does the grocery list sync between phones?
Yes, live. Check something off and it's checked off on everyone's phone in the household within a second.
What is prep day?
An optional session (say, Sunday afternoon) where you chop, cook grains and mix sauces for the week. Each task lists exact amounts and steps, and anything that won't keep is moved to the night before its meal.
Can I share recipes with other families?
Yes. You can let another household search your recipe box and copy recipes into theirs, or send a single recipe to anyone by email or link. Nothing lands in someone's box until they tap to add it.
Is my data private?
Your household's recipes and plans are only visible to your household and to families you choose to share with. See our privacy policy.
